With all the controversy that plagues today’s society is it right to judge a man who marries what he treasures most?

Drumliners everywhere are being forced to answer this question after Joseph Smith of Toquerville, Utah married his tenor drums.

Smith, who is an admitted drumline-aholic, surprised the world’s drumline community last week when he married a set of marching drums. His decision has many stepping back to analyze their own love of music.

Smith eloped with his set of Yamaha Tenors to a remote part of Canada’s Yukon Territory. When probed, Smith was able to provide World Drumline Weekly with an authentic looking marriage certificate; however, the name of the issuing town has been smudged beyond recognition. Smith, who is concerned about his personal safety and the security of the wedding chapel, refused to identify the town.

How did Smith reach this life changing moment? Read the next issue of WDN for the exclusive inside look at Joseph Smith’s deep love of drumline.
